4 c flour
1 tsp butter or lard
1 1/2 c warm water
1 tsp salt
Filling:
8 medium potatoes (boiled)
1/2 c cheese whiz
salt to taste
pepper to taste

Directions:
Directions:
Mix ingredients to soft dough. Let stand 10 min. Roll out dough. cut in circles about the size of an orange. Place 1 tsp of filling on each round. Fold and pinch edges together. Be sure they are well sealed. Place on floured tea towel. Don't let perogies touch as they will stick together. Drop in boiling salted water for 8 to 10 min. They rise to top when cooked. While hot, pour melted butter over them so they won't stick. If perogies stick while boiling add some lard to the water. Serve with sour cream or gravy. For filling mash potatoes with cheese whiz, salt and pepper.

Perogies freeze well. Reheat in oven, deep fryer or pan fry.
