500 g (1 lb) minced beef
chopped onions
2 oz lard
2 oz breadcrumbs
1 large egg
salt and pepper
1 (14 oz) tin tomatoes
2 oz seasoned flour
herbs and spices to taste

Directions:
Directions:
Put minced beef in mixing bowl and add lightly beaten eggs, breadcrumbs, 1/2 of onions, salt and pepper and herbs. Mix together and divide into meatballs. Toss meatballs in seasoned flour until well coated. Melt lard in frying pan and add meatballs and brown on all sides. Transfer to baking dish. Fry remainder of onions until brown and remove from heat and stir in some flour. When well blended add tin of tomatoes and return to heat and bring to a boil. Pour over meatballs. Cover and bake at 375ºF for 40 min. Remove cover and cook for another 20 min.
