1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg, unbeaten
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. pastry flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
3 T. cocoa
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. sour milk
Directions:
Directions:
1. Cream butter and add sugar gradually.
2. Add egg, mix well, then add vanilla.
3. Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with sour milk.
4. Pour into buttered 8”x 8” pan.
5. Bake at 350º F for 45 to 50 minutes, depending on whether cake is baked in a layer cake pan or square pan.
