1 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups uncooked regular oats
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup chopped dates
1 cup golden raisins
1 cup flaked coconut
1 cup chopped pecans
1 teaspoon grated orange rind
1 teaspoon grated lemon rind
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
1/2 teaspoon orange extract

Cream butter; gradually add sugar, beating at medium speed of an electric mixer. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.

Combined flour and next four ingredients; stir well. Add flour mixture and remaining ingredients to creamed mixture; stir well. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart onto lightly greased cookie sheets. (I use parchment paper)

Bake at 350º for 14 to 16 minutes; cool on cookie sheets 10 minutes. Transfer to cooking racks (cookies firm as they cool).
