3/4 c. corn meal
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. soda
3/4 c. buttermilk
1 egg
2 tbsp. bacon grease

Directions:
Directions:
Mix cornmeal, salt, and soda. Add buttermilk then add egg. Mix well. Heat bacon grease in a small iron skillet (6 1/2 inch). Pour 1/2 grease in batter. Pour batter into skillet. Let stand in heated skillet about 2 minutes, then put in preheated oven at 400º for 20 minutes or till slightly brown on top.
