Cookies:
1 pound crisco shortening
3 cups flour
2 egg yolks
1 1/4 cup water
1 tsp salt
2 TBSP sugar

Filling:
1 1/2 cups milk
6 TBSP corn starch
Cook until thick, stir constantly and cool.
Stir occasionally while cooling
Directions:

Mix 1/2 cup of the crisco, flour, sugar, and salt as for pie dough
Mix the egg yolks in with the water
Add to the flour mixture, mix by hand
You want to have a short dough, not stiff
Roll out on lightly floured surface and spread 1/2 cup crisco
Fold like and envelope, cover and refrigerate for 1 hour
Roll out and spread with another 1/2 cup crisco, fold again and refrigerate for another hour
Roll out again, spread with another 1/2 cup crisco, fold and refrigerate overnight or longer
When its time to bake, cut dough into 4 sections, working with 1 section at a time
Roll very thin in a mixture of 3/4 cup sugar and 1/4 cup flour


Cut the dough across the center and then into strips
Wrap around clothespins covered with aluminum foil
Bake 400 degrees for 10-15 minutes or until light brown
Remove from clothespins immediately
Cool

less than 1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
21 oz marshmallow cream
Beat together, then add flour mixture and beat until smooth

Put filling into cookie press or container to fill each cookie
