2 cup sifted Flour
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
3/4 tsp salt
5 tbsp shortening
3/4 cup milk (approx)
1 cup grated American cheese

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour and measure. Add baking powder and salt and sift in bowl. Add cheese to flour mixture. Cut in shortening until mixture looks like coarse corn meal. Add milk and stir until soft dough is formed. (about 20 strokes) Turn on lightly floured board and knead for 30 seconds. Bake on ungreased baking sheet in hot oven 450º for 12-15 minutes.
