4 eggs
2 cups milk or buttermilk
1/2 cup cooking oil
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/2 cup brown sugar
8 teaspoons baking powder
2 cups white or yellow cornmeal
2 cups white flour

Directions:
Directions:
Beat together the eggs, milk, oil, salt, and brown sugar until well blended. Sift in the baking powder and whisk until foamy. Quickly mix in the cornmeal and flour. Beat until batter is smooth. Pour into two, oiled 9 inch square or 10 inch round baking pans. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean.
