Directions:1. Buy your favorite cake mix and bake as directed on the box, using a 9x 13 " cake pan. 2. Let it cool completely. 3. Once the cake is cooled, crumble the cooled cake into a large mixing bowl. 4. The texture of the cake causes it to crumble easily. You can also use a fork to break any larger pieces of cake apart. 5. Repeat until the entire cake is crumbled into a fine texture. 6. Add three-quarters of the container of frosting. You will not need the remaining frosting. 7. Mix it into the crumbled cake, using the back of a large metal spoon, until thoroughly combined. If you use the entire container, the cake balls will be too moist. 8. The mixture should be moist enough to roll into 1 1/2- inch balls and still hold a round shape.
9. After rolling the cake balls by hand, Place them on a wax paper-covered baking sheet. 10. Cover with plastic wrap and chill for several hours in the refrigerator, or place in the freezer for about 15 minutes. 11. You want the balls to be firm, but not frozen. 12. Melt chocolate chips in a microwaveable bowl. 13. Cover the cake balls in melted chocolate on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. 14. Add sprinkles. 15. Put in frig to harden. 16. Eat and enjoy. Michelle is a wonderful cook. Scott looks forward to delicious meals when he gets home from work. She is creative and quick to whip up a perfect meal! |
