2 c sifted flour 1 t salt
3 t baking powder 7 egg yolks
1/2 c cooking oil 1/2 c poppy seeds
2 t vanilla 3/4 c cold water
1.5 c sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Soak 1/2 c poppy seeds in 3/4 c cold water. Sift dry ing. into large bowl. Mkae a well and add liquid ing. plus poppy seeds and water. Beat unitl very smooth. Mix together and beat until they form very stiff peaks: 1 c egg whites and 1/2 t cream of tartar. Gently fold into egg yok batter with scraper. Bake in ungreased 10 in. tube pan 65-70 minutes at 350º. Invert pan when cake is done and let cool. Turn out and ice with vanilla butter frosting.

Anna is famous for the height of her Chiffon. This cake was celebrated at many occasions but mainly birthdays. Fresh poppies from the garden are the best ing.
