1 1/2 lbs. round steak
1/4 cup flour
1 tsp. salt
1 16oz. can stewed tomatoes
1/2 cup chopped celery
1/2 cup chopped carrot
2 tbsp. chopped onion
1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or mozzarella)
1 tbsp. shortening

Directions:
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350.
2. Cut meat into portions.
3. Mix flour and salt and pound into meat. Shake off excess flour. Set aside remaining flour.
4. Brown meat in shortening in a skillet and place in a shallow, greased baking dish.
5. Add remaining flour to the skillet with the meat drippings and mix. Add in remaining ingredients, except cheese. Cook, stirring constantly, till mixture boils.
6. Pour over steak, cover dish with foil and bake for 2 hours, or until tender.
7. Top with cheese and bake uncovered for an additional 5-10 minutes, until cheese is melted.

Kathy and Don are Jackie's Godparents and are more like family. We lived across the street from them when we lived in Albany. Dawn and I were best friends and were always at each other's houses. So many wonderful memories were spent on Somerset Drive!
