1 1/2 pounds sharp cheddar cheese, grated
1/2 pound Velveeta
3 oz. cream cheese, softened to room temperature
1 t. seasoned salt (Lawry's)
1/2 t. garlic powder
3-4 drops liquid smoke

Directions:

Warm ingredients over a double boiler, or over low heat, until cheeses have melted and ingredients are well combined. Pour into storage containers to cool and set. Portion as needed. This recipe makes about 4 rolls.

Kraft garlic cheese roll was discontinued in the 80's. Louisiana cooks were outraged when this happened. Today there are still pleas to Kraft to make the rolls. It was the main ingredient in Spinach Madeline. Finally the higher ups at Kraft released this recipe which they claim is a close relative of the Garlic Cheese Roll. I have to agree with them.
