1 3/4 cup sifted flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
3/4 cups shortening
3/4 cup sugar
1 egg unbeaten
1 cup thick sweetened apple sauce
1/2 cup raisins
1 cup nuts chopped

Directions:

Sift flour add baking powder, baking soda, salt, and spices. Cream shortening, add sugar and cream well. Add egg and beat well. Add flour alternating with apple sauce, mixing thoroughly. Add raisins and nuts. Blend well. Drop from tsp. on greased cookie sheet 2 inches apart. Bake at 375º for 15 mins or until done.
