DOUBLE RECIPE
1/2 C shortening (butter)
3/4 C.sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp vanilla
2 C flour
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 ts[ baking soda
2-3 T milk

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven 350
Blend shortening and sugar
Add egg, beat well
Add vanilla
Add sifted dry ingredients to butter mixture, alternating with T of milk
Mix

Roll out dough with rolling pin to about 1/4 inch thickness
Place cut out cookies on ungreased cookie sheet
Bake for 6 minutes til bottoms are slightly tan

Frost and decorate

Do not over mix-if you keep the mixer running while adding ingredients, cookies will be very tough. Joy
