3/4 c. shortening
1 c. brown sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
4 T. molasses
1 egg
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp ground cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ginger
2 1/4 c. flour

Directions:
Directions:
Mix and chill 1 hour or more
Shape into balls, dip in granulated sugar
Sprinkle water on top and bake in a 350º oven until done.

***This recipe can not be doubled.
