1 unbaked pie shell in a deep dish pie pan

PUMPKIN LAYER
1 ½ cp pumpkin
½ cp sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp pumpkin pie spice

PECAN LAYER
2/3 cp light corn syrup
½ cp sugar
2 eggs
3 Tbls butter, melted
½ tsp vanilla
1 cp pecan halves

Preheat oven to 350*.

For pumpkin layer; Combine pumpkin, sugar, egg and pumpkin pie spice in med bowl – stir well. Spread over the bottom of the pie shell.

For pecan layer; Combine corn syrup, sugar, eggs, butter and vanilla extract in the same bowl. Layer the pecans over the pumpkin, then pour the corn syrup mixture over the top of them.

Cover the edge of the crust with foil and bake for 1 hour. It will be a bit jiggly when you pull it out of the oven but it will finish setting up as it cools. Cool on wire rack.

This was delicious! Tim has always loved Pecan Pie but I have never liked it. We both loved this. He said he prefers it over plain pecan pie and I sure did too.
