1 c. Sugar
3/4 c. Shortening
1/4 c. Molasses
1 egg (beaten)
2 c. Flour
1/2 tsp. Baking soda
1/2 tsp. Salt
1 tsp. Cinnamon
1/2 tsp. Ground Cloves
1/4 tsp. Nutmeg
1/2 tsp. Ground Ginger
1/2 c. Sugar (set aside)

Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugar and shortening until light and fluffy. Add molasses & egg, beat well. Sift flour, salt, baking soda, and spices together. Add to cream mixture. Roll in balls by teaspoons. Roll in the extra sugar. Place on cookie sheet, do not flatten. Bake at 375º for 10-12 mins.
