1 3/4 c sifted all purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1 c lightly packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp maple extract
1 c dairy sour cream
1/2 c soft butter
1 egg yolk
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp maple extract
1 1/2 c sifted icing sugar

Preheat oven to 375ºF. Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Lightly butter cookie sheets. Beat sugar and eggs until well blended. Stir in vanilla and maple extract. Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with sour cream, combining lightly after each addition. Drop by small spoonsful on prepared cookie sheets. Bake 7 or 8 min or until tops spring back when toughed lightly in centre. Cool on racks, put together with filling.

Filling: Cream the butter, egg yolk, vanilla and maple extract. Gradually add icing sugar and beat until smooth and creamy.
