1 cup maple syrup
1 cup packed light brown sugar
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 TB molasses
4 TB unsalted butter, cut into 1/2 inch pieces
1/2 tsp salt
6 large egg yolks, lightly beaten
1-1 1/2 cups chopped pecans, toasted
1 unbaked pie shell, chilled for 30 minutes

1) Preheat oven to 450 degrees. and adjust oven rack to lowest position.
2) Heat syrup, sugar, and molasses in saucepan over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until sugar dissolves (about 3-4 minutes).
3) Stir in the cream during the last minute.
4) Remove from heat and cool mixture for 5 minutes.
5)Whisk butter and salt into syrup mixture.
6) Whisk egg yolks into mixture until incorporated.
7)Scatter pecans in pie shell, and carefully pour filling over the pecans.
8) Place pie on lowest oven rack and IMMEDIATELY lower oven temp to 325 degrees.
9) Bake for 45-60 minutes, until center of pie slightly jiggles when gently shaken. Cool completely and refrigerate until set (at least 3 hours). Bring to room temperature before serving.
