2 lb. baking potatoes
¾ c. Hot Milk
2 tbsp. butter or margarine
8 oz. Sliced american cheese
½ tsp. Freshly ground black pepper
¼ tsp. salt
Garlic powder, to taste

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350. Cook potatoes in water to cover 13 to 15 minutes until very tender. Drain in a colander. Mash, adding half the milk and the butter. Add cheese, then remaining milk and seasonings and beat with a wooden spoon until cheese has melted and potatoes are creamy. Place in a baking dish, top with additional slices of american cheese and bake until cheese is slightly browned and bubbly, approximately 10 minutes.
