16 oz almond paste
1 c sugar
1/4 c egg whites
1/4 cup flour
1 egg white
Slivered almonds

Directions:
Directions:
Break up the almond paste with a fork, and mix in the sugar and the egg whites. Stir in the top of a double boiler and cook 5 minutes, until mixture is warm.

Transfer to mixer bowl and with mixer running, stir in flour until consistency is dough-like. Turn onto floured board to cool. Form into small logs, then dip in the remaining egg white and roll in slivered almonds to coat.

Bake on well greased baking sheets (or use Silipat liner) for 15-20 minutes at 350 degrees. They should be light golden brown, do not over bake. These keep well and can be frozen.
