Ingredients:
Ingredients:
Part 1:
6 eggs whites
3/4 tsp cream of tartar
1/4 tsp salt
1-1/2 cups sugar

Part 2:
6 oz cream cheese
1cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 pint cream (whipped first)
2 cups miniature marshmallows

Cherry Pie Filling

Directions:
Directions:
Part 1: Grease 9x13 pan. Heat oven to 275 degrees F. Beat 6 eggs whites with 3/4 tsp cream of tartar and 1/4 tsp salt until soft peaks form. Slowly mix in 1-1/2 cups sugar and continue beating until glossy and stiff peaks have formed. Spread into the greased pan. Bake one hour, then turn off oven until completely cooled (just turn it off & leave it alone several hours) - do NOT open the oven door before it's totally cooled !!!

Part 2: Cream 6 oz phil. cream cheese with 1cup sugar. Add 1 tsp vanilla. Fold in 1 pint cream (whipped first) and 2 cups miniature marshmallows. Spread over the meringue base and refrigerate 8 hours or more.

Cut into serving pieces and top with a dollop of cherry pie filling. And now... TRY and resist eating more than one piece (at a time, anyway)

My other favorite CHERRIES IN THE SNOW... This dessert is supposed to last a week in the frig, but I've never had any left over beyond a couple days to test that statement ! These instructions will need to be converted for our friends using the metric system (but it will be worth it).
