1 bag (11 oz size) caramel candies
2/3 cup evaporated milk
1 cup flour
3/4 cup Quick cooking rolled oats uncooked
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 teaspoon soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup butter
1 package (12 oz size) semi-sweet chocolate pieces

Heat oven to 350F. Melt caramels with milk in covered double boiler or heavy saucepan over low heat.
Combine dry ingredients; cut in margarine until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Reserve 1 cup.
Press remaining crumb mixture onto bottom of greased 13x9" baking pan.
Bake at 350F for 12 minutes. Sprinkle chocolate pieces over baked crust. Spread caramel mixture
evenly over chocolate pieces; sprinkle with reserved crumb mixture. Continue baking 20 minutes. Chill
2 hours. Cut into bars.
