Thinly slice in a gallon jar (about 3/4 full) cucumbers and 4 thinly sliced onions
4 c sugar
4 c vinegar
1/2 c salt
1-1/4 tsp. tumeric
1-1/4 tsp. celery seed
1-1/2 tsp. mustard seed

You can used quart or pint jars if you don't have a gallon jar. I use a glass gallon jar with a lid. Do not heat. Mix together the rest of the recipe, stirring well. Pour cold liquid mixture over cucumbers and onions covering the cukes and onions with the liquid. Put in refrigerator and wait 5 days. Then they're ready!
