Grated Potato Casserole Recipe

6 large russet potatoes
1/2 T dried garlic flakes, halved
1 tsp onion powder, halved
1 tsp salt, halved
1/2 T pepper, halved
2 cups grated yellow cheese
1/2 c whole milk
1 stick butter, cut into pats

Directions:
Directions:
Scrub potatoes until clean. Boil until a fork inserts easily. If you want to remove the skin, do it at this time. Allow potatoes to cool.
Preheat over to 350º
Grate potatoes using a large grater.
Put half of the grated potatoes into a large casserole dish.
Season with half of the spices. Add more to taste.
Top with one cup cheese.
Layer remaining potatoes, and top with seasonings and 1 cup cheese.
Space pats of butter around the top of the casserole.
Pour milk over top of casserole.
Bake approximately 30 minutes or until center is hot and cheese is melted and bubbly.

You can also make this in a 9x13 inch pan by making just a single layer. This is a nice way to do it for a large group, as it makes it easier for people to take smaller servings. Feel free to personalize both the type and amount of seasonings.
