#2 white navy beans- wash beans. Soak at least 12 hours or overnight. Rinse well.
Bring water up to top of beans in large cooking pot. Parboil bean for about 1 hour. Add about 1/8t baking soda to beans. Remove from heat. Water should be slightly below the level of the cooked beans. Add to your bean pot.
2 c diced bacon 2 c diced onion
1 c ketchup 4 T molasses
2 T maple syrup
salt & pepper to taste.

Put in you bean pot or crock with lid. Bake in 325 degree oven 3-4 hours.
This makes a big batch for a big picnic.
These beans freeze well.
