3/4 cup Sugar
1 cup Butter
2 tsp. Vanilla
2 tsp. Rum Extract
1 egg
3 cups Flour
1 tsp. Nutmeg
Frosting:
2 cups Powdered sugar
3 Tbsp. Butter
3/4 tsp Rum Extract
1/4 tsp Vanilla
2-3 Tbsp. Milk

Directions:
Directions:
In large bowl, combine sugar, butter, vanilla, rum extract and egg. Beat until light and fluffy. Sift together dry ingredients and add to butter mixture, mixing well. Wrap dough with plastic wrap and refrigerate about 45 minutes. Heat oven to 350º. divide dough into 12 pieces. On a floured surface, shape each piece into a long rope and cut into 3" long pieces. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes or until edges are lightly golden brown. Immediately remove from cookie sheet to cooling rack and cool for about 20 minutes. In a small bowl combine all the Frosting ingredients to the desired spreading consistency. Spread on top and sides of cookies. If desired, mark frosting with tines of fork to resenble tree bark and sprinkle lightly with nutmeg. Let frosting set before storing.
