GRANDMOTHER’S
CHOCOLATE PIE

1 C sugar
2 heaping T flour
Pinch of salt
2 egg yolks
3 T cocoa or chocolate
1 ½ C milk
2 T butter
1 t vanilla




Directions:
Directions:
Cook first 6 ingredients in saucepan until thick. Add butter and vanilla. Pour into BAKED pie shell.

Beat egg whites and 6 T sugar. Beat until stiff. Cover pie all the way to the edges. Bake 5-10 min at 400°



GRANNY’S FABULOUS CRUST:
½ C shortening (full ½ c)
1 ½ C flour
½ t salt
5 T COLD water

Cut shortening with salt and flour. Gradually add water. When the dough holds together, form into a ball. Wrap in plastic wrap and chill at least 1 hour before rolling.
