¼ c. barley*
4 c. water
1 ½ tsp. onion powder
1 ½ tsp. basil
½ tsp. granulated garlic
½ tsp. salt
2- 28 oz. cans crushed tomatoes
½ c. raw cashews
2 c. water

Directions:
Directions:
Cook barley in water until soft. Add tomatoes and seasonings and cook on low a few minutes to blend flavors. Blend cashews and remaining water until smooth and add to soup after removing from the heat. Use the desired amount of water for the stew thickness you prefer.
* For gluten free omit barley or replace with equal amount of rice, quinoa, or millet.
