Ingredients:
Ingredients:
3-4 chicken breasts, roasted in oven or stewed. When cooled, cut or pull apart.
2 cans chicken broth (canned low sodium is fine) May use extra for moisture.
1 can of either cream of chicken or cream of celery soup, low sodium
1 cup self rising flour
1 stick of butter melted (may use less—but no margarine )
3 / 4 cup milk

Directions:
Directions:
Place chicken in 9x13 baking dish; pour chicken broth and cream soup over (I mix these together first) and mix well. Salt and pepper to taste.
Make crust mixture out of flour, butter and milk. I put enough milk to make it thick but pourable.. cover all chicken surface.
Bake at 325 degrees for one hour until nicely browned and bubbling.
*I have added drained LeSeur peas; also chopped hard boiled egg is good.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
When Jerry’s mom Doris (b. 1924) moved in with her sister Vonne and nephew Trey in Columbus, she and Vonne joined a quilting group that met several times a month. This chicken pot pie recipe was a favorite with all the attendees and it was often requested that she bring her “chicken pie.” It is super easy to make and is always a big hit—a major comfort food. It also can be easily modified.*
