1 cup
3 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/2 butter
Filling:
6 large McIntosh apples
1 2/3 cups sour cream
1 cup sugar
1 large egg
1/3 cup flour
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon salt
Topping:
1 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup butter
1/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon cinnamon
pinch of salt

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Combine crust ingredients. Blend well with pastry cutter. Press into 9-inch pie pan (you can cheat and use ready to use crust from the grocery store).
Peel, core, and slice apples. Combine sour cream, sugar, egg, flour, vanilla, and salt. Mix well. Stir in apples. Pour mixture into pie crust. Bake for 10 minutes. Reduce oven temperature to 350 degrees and bake 35 minutes.
While pie is baking, combine all topping ingredients. Mix Well. Spoon over baked pie. Bake an additional 15 minutes. Serve cold.

This was Jason's discovery. He found this recipe in a Maine cookbook La Donna's mother had given them as a gift from her vacation in Maine. It's one of Jason's favorite pies.
