1 cup milk, scalded
1/3 cup butter
1/2 cup sugar
1 1/2 tsp. salt
2 packages yeast (each package equals 2 1/4 tsp yeast)
1/4 cup lukewarm water
5 cups sifted flour (approximately)
2 eggs, beaten

Directions:
Combine scalded milk, butter, sugar and salt; cool to lukewarm. Soften yeast in lukewarm water, stir and combine with cooled milk mixture. Add about half the flour. While beating with mixer, add eggs. Beat well. Add enough of remaining flour to make soft dough. Turn out on floured board and knead about 10 minutes or until smooth and satiny.
Place dough in greased bowl, turn dough so top of dough is now coated. Cover with towel and let rise in warm place (80-85º) about two hours or until doubled in bulk. Turn out onto board and shape into rolls. Place on greased cookie sheet, cover, let rise 30-45 minutes until doubled. Brush with milk, melted butter, or diluted egg yolk. Bake at 375º 15 to 20 minutes.
