2 C sugar
½ C light corn syrup
½ C water
Dash of salt
2 egg whites
1 t vanilla
½ C chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Place sugar, syrup, water and salt in a pan over low heat. Stir until the sugar is dissolved. Cook, without stirring to 260º on a candy thermometer, or until small amount of mixture dropped into very cold water forms a hard ball.
In a mixer bowl, beat egg whites until stiff peaks form. Continue beating while pouring the syrup over the egg whites in a very fine stream. Add vanilla; beat until mixture holds its shape and becomes slightly dull. Fold in the nuts. Drop mixture from tip of buttered spoon onto wax paper.
