1/2 cup sugar
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 2/3 cups milk

1 well beaten egg
2 tablepoons butter
1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Combine sugar, cornstarch, and salt together, gradually stir in milk and mix well. Cook in microwave uncovered on high for 3 minutes, remove and stir. Return to heat and cook another 3 minutes stirring after each minute. Gradually whisk in a small amount of pudding into the beaten egg until it is well blended. Return to microwave and cook for 30 seconds, stirring after each 15 seconds. Whisk in butter and vanilla, cover with plastic wrap and chill.
*For coconut cream, add 1/2 cup coconut.
*For Chocolate, increase sugar to 2/3 cups and add 1 1/2 squares of unsweetened chocolate with the milk mixture.
*For Butterscotch cream, substitute brown sugar for white sugar and increase butter to 3 tablespoons
