¾ cup rice flour
1/3 cup cocoa
¾ cup sugar
*3 tablespoon water ( 1 tsp. Vanilla or orange juice or other flavouring)
*2 eggs * or see substitute below
½ cup chopped nuts(optional)

Egg Free: Mix 2 tbs ground flax with ½ cup warm water. Let sit for about 3 minutes, stirring a few times. This thicken mixture can be used in place of the egg. The resulting brownie may be a bit ‘softer’ so check cooking time.

Chocolate Brownies

Preheat oven to 325 degrees
Grease an 8 inch square pan

Melt marg/butter: in microwave (generally Power 4 for 2 minutes)

Sift the dry ingredients together:
¾ cup rice flour
1/3 cup cocoa
¾ cup sugar

Add to melted margarine.
Then add: *3 tablespoon water ( 1 tsp. Vanilla or orange juice or other flavouring)
*2 eggs * or flax eggs
Stir just until combined.

Can add: ½ cup chopped nuts.
Bake for 20-25 minutes or until brownies begin to pull away from sides of pan.
Can ‘frost’ by throwing some chocolate chips and nuts on top while the brownies are warn.

• Egg Free: Per flax egg: 1 Tbsp (15 mL) ground flax with 3 Tbsp (45mL) warm water . Can double or triple to replace 2 or 3 eggs.
