1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
2 cups flour
1/2 cup confectioner's sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
3/4 cup chopped pecans
1 jar maraschino cherries, drained

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Cream butter and sugar. Fold in nuts. Gradually add flour, 1/2 cup at a time, to make a soft dough.

Shape a tablespoon of dough around each cherry. Place 1" apart on a cookie sheet and bake at 325 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes. Sift confectioner's sugar over cookies while still warm.
