2 C flour
4 tsp baking powder
3 T sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 C shortening
2/3 C buttermilk
1 egg

Directions:
Directions:
In small bowl combine flour, baking powder, sugar & salt
Cut in shortening until resembles coarse crumbs
Beat egg & buttermilk add to dry ingredients until moistened.
Turn on to well floured surface knead 20 times
Roll to 3/4" thick cut into biscuits of desired size.
I use floured knife & cut into squares or rectangles
Bake on parchement paper or lightly greased baking sheet.
Bake 450º 8-10 minutes
