3/4 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1 egg, room temperature
1/4 cup molasses
2 1/4 cups AP flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon cloves
1/4 teaspoon ginger
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup fresh candied ginger
Additional coarse sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In a seperate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, ginger, and salt.
Cream butter and sugar.
Beat in egg and molasses until light and fluffy.
Gradually add to the creamed mixture.
Fold in candied ginger.
Roll in sugar before baking.
Bake for 10-12 minutes.
