2 cups sugar
1 cup light corn syrup
1 cup light cream
1/4 cup margarine or butter
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 cup chopped walnuts, pecans or coconut

Directions:
Directions:
Line an 8x8x2 pan with foil and butter lightly.
In a heavy 3 1/2 quart saucepan combine sugar, corn syrup, cream and butter.
Cook over a medium heat, stirring with a wooden spoon until sugar is dissolved.
Continue cooking, stirring occasionally to 245º on a candy thermometer or until a little of the mixture, dropped in cold water forms a firm ball.
Remove from heat.
Stir in vanilla and nuts.
Turn into prepared pan.
Let cool 1 hour.
