3/4 cup crisco
3 1/2 cups plain flour
2 tbsp sugar
4 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 egg
1 cup milk
If you use self rising flour, omit the baking powder and salt

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 450º. Cut Crisco into dry ingredients until mixture resembles fine crumbs. Beat egg and milk and stir into flour until soft dough forms. Turn onto lightly floured surface and knead lightly 10 times. Sprinkling with flour if dough is too soft. Roll or pat down to 1 inch. Cut dough with biscuit cutter. Place on cookie sheet that is slightly greased. Bake until brown about 10-12 minutes.
