1 scant cup sugar
2 TBSP shortening
1 tsp salt
3 ripe bananas

1 egg
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp soda
3 TBSP sour milk
1.5 cups walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Oven 350º

Mix sugar, shortening, salt and banana's.
Stir in the rest of the ingredients.
Pour into greased bread pans.

Bake at 350º for 60 minutes

Grandma Tilby left a lot of really good recipes but usually they didn't have the oven temp or baking length on them. This was one of them, so check the bread with a toothpick before you remove it from the oven. If the toothpick comes out clean, it's done and ready to be eaten.
