2 c. flour
dash of salt
2 c.sugar
1 c. any cola beverage
1/3 c. oil
1 stick butter
3 Tbsp. dry cocoa
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. vanilla
3 Tbsp. maraschino cherry liquid
1 jar of finely chopped maraschino cherries
2 eggs
Icing
1 stick butter
3 Tbsp. cocoa
6 Tbsp. whole milk
3 Tbsp. maraschino cherry liquid
1 lb. confectioners' sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped pecans

Directions:
Mix flour, salt and sugar. In separate pan, bring to boil the cola drink, oil, butter and cocoa. Add hot liquid to bowl and beat heavily; add buttermilk, baking soda, vanilla, cherry liquid, cherries and eggs. Continue beating. Pour into sprayed sheet cake pan and bake for 25 minutes at 350º.
Icing - Heat butter, cocoa and milk until butter is liquified; add remaining ingredients and beat well. Pour icing on cake while it is still hot or warm for easier spreading. Cool and cut!
