2 cups flour
1 Tbl. baking powder
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
1/3 cup shortening or butter (not margarine)
**2/3 cup buttermilk (see below for easy homemade buttermilk)
1/3 cup raisins

Icing:
1 cup powdered sugar
1 1/2 Tbl. milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 450º.

**(To make buttermilk at home...put 1 Tbl plus 1/8 tsp. vinegar in a measuring cup then add milk to equal 2/3 cups). Set aside for a few minutes until it thickens.

Cream butter and sugar. Add remaining ingredients and stir until blended.

Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto lightly greased (or spray with Pam)baking sheet.

Bake at 450º for 15 minutes or until golden brown on top.

Icing: Spread over warm biscuits just out of oven. YUM!!
