3 1/2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni - about 12 oz
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp salt
3 1/2 cups milk
5 cups (20 oz) grated cheddar cheese- Divided

Directions:
Directions:
1. Cook macaroni until tender
2. In a small saucepan , melt the butter. Stir in the flour to make a roux. Add salt. Cook and stir until smooth
3. Drain macaroni, stir in the roux, put it in a casserole or 9x13 pan.
4. Stir in milk and 4 cups of the cheddar cheese.
5. Cover and bake 350 for 45 minutes or until bubbly.
6. Sprinkle with remaining cheese. Let stand for 5 minutes.
