"As I ate the oysters with their strong taste of the sea and their faint metallic taste that the cold white wine washed away, leaving only the sea taste and the succulent texture, and as I drank their cold liquid from each shell and washed it down with the crisp taste of the wine, I lost the empty feeling and began to be happy, and to make plans."--Ernest Hemingway

Directions:
Cream sugars and margarine, add vanilla, peanut butter, and egg. Mix flour and salt and add to batter. Roll into balls, roll in additional granulated sugar and place on cookie sheets, about 2 inches apart. Bake at 350ºF about 7-10 minutes,be careful not to let but, but they should be slightly puffed when done. Remove from oven and push an unwrapped kiss into center of each cookie. May need to finish cooling in refrigerator because kisses will melt and be hard to handle otherwise.
