1/2 c. shortening
1 1/3 c. brown sugar, packed
1 egg
1/4 c. milk or apple juice
2 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 c. chopped nuts, optional
1 c. finely chopped, unpaired apple
1 c. raisin
Directions:
Directions:
Combine shortening, brown sugar. Add egg and milk. In a separate bowl combine all dry ingredients. Combine. Add nuts, apples and raisins.
Bake at 400 º for 11-14 min. Frost while warm.

Frosting:
1 1/2 c. powdered sugar
1/4 tsp. vanilla
dash of salt
2 1/2 T. milk
1 T. butter
Beat all ingredients together. Frost warm cookies
