1 whole chicken
1 onion
2 stalks celery
1/2 tsp salt
1 sm. can tomato sauce
noodles

Directions:
Directions:
Clean the chicken. Place in a large pan. Add water to just cover chicken.
Add onion, celery and salt. When it comes to a boil, turn down, and boil for about 1- 1 1/2 hours.
Remove chicken to a bowl to cool. Throw away the onion and celery. After it cools you can take the meat off the bone and put in a freezer bag for future use.
With the broth add about 1/2 can of the tomato sauce. Bring to a boil and add the noodles. (If you need more broth you can add a can or two of chicken broth or several chicken bouillon cubes and more water.)
Taste and then serve.

You can add the chicken chopped up, rice, vegetables, etc.

Personal Notes:
This was Grandpa Boots favorite. He would have several bowls. Make sure you serve with lots of pepper.
We always have it at the beginning of our holiday meals
Make a pot of chicken soup if your feeling under the weather and just want some comfort food.
