½ cup sugar
½ cup butter
½ cup Grandma’s Molasses (robust yellow label)
1 egg beaten
1 ¾ cup flour
1 tsp. baking soda
¼ tsp. salt
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon
½ tsp. allspice
½ tsp. ground cloves

Beat together:
½ cup sugar
½ cup butter
½ cup Grandma’s Molasses (robust yellow label)
1 egg beaten

To this add:
1 ¾ cup flour
1 tsp. baking soda
¼ tsp. salt
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon
½ tsp. allspice
½ tsp. ground cloves

Add:
¾ cup boiling water
Mix all together until blended. Bake in a lightly greased and floured bread pan (I use glass loaf pan) for about 50-55 minutes in a 325 degree oven.
