4 eggs
2 1/4 c. sugar

5 c. milk
4 c. Half and Half
4 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt

10 or more pounds of ice and plenty of rock salt for ice cream freezer.

Directions:
Directions:
Beat together the eggs and sugar until they become stiff. Add the milk, half and half, vanilla, and salt. Continue to beat at medium speed until mixed well.

Put into ice cream freezer. Pack ice around outside of ice cream container. Sprinkle with rock salt.

You may have to add ice and salt until ice cream thickens. I normally start with 10 to 15 pounds of ice.
