1 1/2 Cups Brown Sugar
2 Eggs
2 Cups Flour
1 Tbs Butter
2 Tsp Vanilla
1 1/2 Cups Water
2 Tbs Baking Soda

Directions:

Mix brown sugar, eggs, flour, butter, vanilla together.

Bring 1 1/2 cups of water to a boil. Add dates and cook until they are soft. Add mixture while hot.

Since I had always planned to put together the recipes of my grandmother, I gave nan a set of recipe cards. Of course I told them it was for a gift to my mother and my aunt Deb. Interesting why she picked this recipe rather than the traditional meals she would cook. I hate date bread, but maybe her kids like it?
